Forests: What are the trends in the French market?

With 17.5 million hectares, French forests represent 32% of the country's metropolitan territory and are the fourth largest forested area in Europe. 75% of these forests are privately owned by 3.5 million individuals. Julien Terrier, Director of Operations at Forêt Patrimoine, an agency specializing in forestry transactions, analyzes the trends in this market, in which 1% of the forest area changes hands each year.
