In the heart of the Gâtine Tourangelle, immediately close to the Tours agglomeration and the picturesque Loire Valley, the Landes forest spans nearly 30 hectares in a single stretch, on the territory of the commune of Pocé-sur-Cisse. It benefits from an active forest environment, in a region known for the quality of its forests. Several features give this massif an interesting potential in the current context:

  • A favorable location, close to wood processing units and major communication routes;
  • Promising and well-shaped oak stands;
  • High-quality soils, typical of the Touraine plateaus, conducive to the growth of existing species and natural regeneration;
  • A well-designed territory, open to the plain and naturally rich in game.

The Forest

Species and Silviculture

The Oak, predominantly sessile, dominates the deciduous species encountered. Perfectly adapted to the pedoclimatic context, it produces slender woods, free of major defects and highly appreciated by processors. In the densest plots, the ability to produce quality wood is proven. The natural regeneration of this species is easily established, ensuring management comfort and low renewal costs.

The Maritime Pine is present sporadically. The woods are qualitative and vigorous.
-
The distribution of stands is as follows:
- Deciduous high forests: 9.6586 ha
- Mixed high forest and coppice: 12.03 ha
- Mixed high forest and robinia coppice: 0.95 ha
- Simple coppice: 4.3 ha
- Other areas: 0.12 ha

Conclusion

Located near Tours and Amboise, the Landes forest constitutes a coherent and homogeneous forest massif, established on stations favorable to the production of quality timber.

The stand, predominantly composed of oaks, has a future potential that allows for qualitative management that will improve the productive capital.

In a context of high demand for timber, particularly for quality oak, this forest property presents a definite potential for medium and long-term valorization. Its proximity to the Tours agglomeration enhances its attractiveness.

Moreover, the massif provides a natural setting conducive to hunting. The diversity of species and the tranquility of the place allow for a varied fauna, including large game, thus adding a recreational and heritage dimension to this acquisition.
